So the chances that only the oldest accounts advanced by chance out of all the possible combinations of players that could have advanced became exceedingly low. Was it impossible? No, but if it's not account age, then it's something that correlates so strongly with account age that it is indistinguishable.
An example like that does give it more weight - I've only ever seen it where just one other player is eliminated (other than the booted player) when I've seen it personally. And you (and the original poster of that content) are correct, the chances of that exact combination happening by chance are definitely low.
