i wish they changed to rules so that you can guess after asking, i think it would make it more fair and challenging. Any chance the publisher could be open to that at least? And for both 2p and more p!
That was precisely the rejected suggestion.

Good to hear that you tried, sad that they would rather have the game ramsacked and left to rot than to give potential buyers of the game a chance to enjoy it. Easy pass for my wallet

It's not like you were forced to play the BGA houserules with the physical game.

I'm sincerely curious about the reason(s) why.

Just wanting to add +1. I think it's absolutely fine that we get the same puzzle and that it's "BGA" who is the puzzle master, but why in the world are the questions I'm asking and the information i'm getting shown to the opponent and vice versa? This really feels like a coop game with it's current implementation. It's just so odd to me that it works this way. Why isn't the information that I'm asking, hidden from the opponent? Then at least it plays like the original game, where your action is driving information to you and you take your own strict path to the answer.

It's not just the 2 player mode. The set up and way the rules have been implemented make this really fun game absolutely not worth playing and that's a huge shame.
If you're going to collectively try and guess the positions then you should be able to submit your solution at any point just like in the official rules.

There's no such rule in the physical game either. The implementation only changes the 2p mode.

This BGA adaption has literally the same issue as Digit Code, another game, that was featured a week ago. If both players are sufficiently skilled at the logic of the game, eventually it becomes a stalemate, with both players trying to guess dead questions every turn.

Completely agree that this is the fix. I've played the game a handful of times the past day and a half and I'm at the point of agreeing it's a timing/stalling game now. Bummer.
