Nice to see the addition of the leagues, but did the calculation on points also change?
It's a bit strange, with a win you might get 1-2 symbol in that league, so after 5 wins at 6 symbols in platin league, but 1 lose and you are down to 0 again. That's not how this should progress I would assume?
1 step against silver, 2 against gold. Working as intended i would say. -5 against a silver is also expected.
If you want to earn points faster, force your opponent to be in your league. Use the gear before launching a game
I always thought it's more ELO related, since there is more reason to earn more points if you play against better ELO and loose more if you loose against lower ELO?

I have this option enabled for a long time, that in the settings I want to play with players on my level and I toggled the other ones, but I'm still paired by the MMR with all different levels. AFAIR there was a discussion that this doesn't apply to Arena rather normal games.

There is a special setting for arena which take league into account.
I set mine at -1/+1 league away from mine until i reached the max one

That is the same setting I do, but it doesn't seem to work properly.

Use the Play Now page to configure the settings and launch the game. That should work 100% of the time.
