So is it possible to add option to play without Luna and Vitor? Does bga need to contact with publisher to approve changes?
There exists an official variant that allows for preludes to be used without including the 5 corporations that are typically added when using preludes.objective-goose128 wrote: ↑18 July 2025, 22:05 So is it possible to add option to play without Luna and Vitor? And yes, BGA desperately needs to include this feature for competitive settings and reduce some of the variance.FrankJones wrote: ↑19 July 2025, 00:38There exists an official variant that allows for preludes to be used without including the 5 corporations that are typically added when using preludes.objective-goose128 wrote: ↑18 July 2025, 22:05 So is it possible to add option to play without Luna and Vitor? Truthfully, what would be best is the type of drafting system implemented on web app TfM where the opening corporations, preludes, and cards for hand are all drafted. Massively improves the degree of impact skill has on the outcomes of games to eliminate the worst of the crazy variance in the game.flashgorton wrote: ↑19 July 2025, 18:32 I agree but Credicor from the base game can be as bad as facing PL. I'd be in favour of an option that allows you to just disallow any specified corp rather than a Prelude-corp toggle. I usually play with friends and IRL we're thinking of implementing a 'winner's paddock' system whereby the winning corp each week is removed from the deck to encourage more varied corp selection (we also draw 3 corps and discard 1 before seeing preludes/project cards). But to implement on BGA we need an agreement to void the game if somebody is dealt a previous winning corp.
Plenty of people draw the right cards but misplay them or make tactical blunders. But AOTBE, yes, the person who draws the better cards will win. The good news is, AOTBE is rarely true.HorsfieldsTarsier wrote: ↑04 August 2025, 01:33 Well hasn't this game always been "if you draw the right cards you win"?
BGA needs to include opening 4 3 3 draft (2-1-1 corps and preludes) and add the fixed cards to the deck if they want to make it competitive. Its not a 2 player game, and is entirely not designed to be as much. Its high variance despite what the top players thinks is not competitive, it is the exact opposite. You can win or lose on opening choices, and thats not okay.jaymc1130 wrote: ↑19 July 2025, 04:09And yes, BGA desperately needs to include this feature for competitive settings and reduce some of the variance.FrankJones wrote: ↑19 July 2025, 00:38There exists an official variant that allows for preludes to be used without including the 5 corporations that are typically added when using preludes.objective-goose128 wrote: ↑18 July 2025, 22:05 So is it possible to add option to play without Luna and Vitor?
