I am having the same problem. I have been playing Azul for a long time as a premium member and all of a sudden the waiting time is minutes and more minutes for what used to be seconds.
I have be asking myself the same question about what could be the reason…

Definitely recommend trying arena if you’re playing 1v1 color side. Main downside is you can’t restrict by opponent elo. You can restrict based on arena league but most people will reach top league eventually so that doesn’t do much late in the season.

Then why do I keep getting matched with opponents from lower leagues? I vey often get players from lower leagues
… Is there any way to set this up differently?

Yeah click the setting wheel next to the game and you can restrict it to only your current league.

I was wondering what was happening too. For those who play multiple games, what do you like that is similar to Azul?

Anyone else still having a hard time finding people to play with? I, too, have played hundreds of games - it use to be my “I have 15 minutes, let play a quick game of Azul”, but recently it has been taking more than 15 to find someone to even play with…
