Also ability to ban cards @frank, I had lots fun participating an no AI tournament. Also with colony Vitor, Luna and Poseidon needs to be banned along with couple cards like Toll Station to keep the game more competitive without being rebalanced.

Understood, but those decisions are not at the discretion of those who maintain the game here. The Fryx family would need to sign off on such modifications.

I hope you’re talking about specific corps, because non-prelude corp era is quite unbearable.

Remember, the more preludes / cards in the game, the more nuance required, the more skill. Think of preludes as chess and corp era as checkers.

He's talking about keeping the preludes but removing the 5 prelude corporations (which are significantly overpowered or underpowered most of the time).

Of the various suggestions, this one probably has the most merit.

Few people like going against Point Luna or Vitor. Or being stuck with Robinson.
Cheung Shing seems difficult to beat as well. Valley Trust? How do people feel about Valley Trust?

Anyway - if playing with preludes while excluding the prelude corps is an official variant (which it might be; I don't play on that lame other version, so I don't know), that would greatly increase the possibility of adding it here as an option.
Well it's just the most popular one for obvious reasons. i personally think it's a good option to have

Not necessarily, let's say we add 5 more cards that cost 0 and give you 50vp. You increase the amount of cards and yet the game becomes a dice roll. Or with a less drastic examples, if we add tons of cards favoring one playstyle we basically invalidate all others (that's what happens in colonies)

I agree it’s more of a dice roll, but we’re not blindly adding new cards, there’s a method to the madness. I’ve enjoyed several games of colonies and think it’s probably a bit too much for most people to unpack and master, but it doesn’t necessarily imbalance the game in the way that you might believe some prelude corps do. I just think corp era has so few corps / cards, the strategies are limited and therefor easy to master making it a more technical game with a lower skill ceiling and a narrow margin for error. It just gets old fast.

Real and true, and hopefully we'll never see Colonies in Arena

I like Colonies but I play most of my games in Friendly mode anyway.

Is Colonies not considered ideal for serious competitive play? Too swingy with all the various OP cards? And of course, Pluto silliness.
