No, what matters is being able too interpret the results.
I worked in market research for decades. You can't ask a question in the negative, ask for a simple Yes/No answer, then be certain what "Yes" means.

It's natural for "No" to mean, "No, may favorite game isn't here." So you should word the question that way.

I just watched that scene on YT. That dialog illustrates nicely how the response to the asked questions cannot be interpreted reliably

Also: did you know you can do a clickable poll? scroll down when creating a new topic to find the option. And pleeease make the responses a sentence, and not just yes and no

I'm so confused about how the question is written.
I guess the intent is more to see how people read questions than knowing if a game is on BGA or not.

I'm as confused as others! But no, my favourite game is not not on BGA. Or more straightforwardly phrased as "My favourite game is on BGA."

OK, so after some time, and after I've asked the question to some others while I've been playing around here, here is the improved version:

If you had to pick one, what would you say is your all time favorite board game, regardless of whether it's on BGA or not?

Tell me what that is, and I can get what I was looking for out of it.

This seems like a question that is impossible to do a meaningful poll about. The self selecting bias is too strong.
