The publisher have just spent a significant amount of money to pay the developer. They now need to see how profitable the game would be on BGA. This will happen in 6+ months after the release (and the release is not tomorrow). This is quite weird to see this question for unreleased games. It's just not possible to evaluate if expansions will be of any profit so early before the release.
Even though some publishers might originally think about expansions but this decision might require months and even years to decide
I agree that too often there are people asking for expansions while the base game hasn't even hit BGA or isn't long around. I'm not a fan of such questions myself.

Having said that, most developments here happen by volunteer devs, not paid ones. So it's not certain the publisher of Nucleum has spent money, let alone a significant amount, to get Nucleum to BGA. Then again, I see you are a developer yourself (thanks for your work!), so your statement about the development of Nucleum probably is based on information you have.
I don't have specific information but I do know that popular games (such as Nucleum) are sponsored in 90-95% cases. Also, I believe no volunteer developer would be so altruistic to spend 70-100+ hours of their life on developing a game. I estimate those numbers based on the complexity of 4+ on BGG which is insanely complex (haven't played Nucleum myself but heard of it multiple times). Almost every heavy game on BGA wasn't coded by volunteers

I understand. And yes, Nucleum is a very heavy game!

I understand your point about the game just moving to alpha and the need to wait to see its profitability.
However, sometimes developers prefer to know in advance if expansions are planned so they can design the adaptation accordingly.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask this question at this stage, and there’s no need to dismiss it or talk down to players.

Hello,
any chance to join Nucleum Alphpa ? I like this game with expansions, but the core game is also good -> would like to play here and maybe participate in Polish language translation if possible.

I can't wait until this is ready to play. The rule book has drviven me crazy in this game. Tried it live last night with a friend trying to learn it.
And so much rules are hiiden in totaly different paragraf than what feels inituative to search and so on.

I am starting to belive playing it here on BGA will be the way for me to learn exactly how things are supposed to work. lol.

Happy coding! =)

You should qualify for the reviewer status and be able to play all the open alpha games
