I love Nucleum and would like to alfa-test it; can I get access please;)
I don't have specific information but I do know that popular games (such as Nucleum) are sponsored in 90-95% cases. Also, I believe no volunteer developer would be so altruistic to spend 70-100+ hours of their life on developing a game. I estimate those numbers based on the complexity of 4+ on BGG which is insanely complex (haven't played Nucleum myself but heard of it multiple times). Almost every heavy game on BGA wasn't coded by volunteersT72on1 wrote: ↑28 November 2025, 15:59I agree that too often there are people asking for expansions while the base game hasn't even hit BGA or isn't long around. I'm not a fan of such questions myself.KuWizard wrote: ↑28 November 2025, 15:32 The game just moved to alpha and you already asking for expansions?
The publisher have just spent a significant amount of money to pay the developer. They now need to see how profitable the game would be on BGA. This will happen in 6+ months after the release (and the release is not tomorrow). This is quite weird to see this question for unreleased games. It's just not possible to evaluate if expansions will be of any profit so early before the release.
Even though some publishers might originally think about expansions but this decision might require months and even years to decide
Having said that, most developments here happen by volunteer devs, not paid ones. So it's not certain the publisher of Nucleum has spent money, let alone a significant amount, to get Nucleum to BGA. Then again, I see you are a developer yourself (thanks for your work!), so your statement about the development of Nucleum probably is based on information you have.
I understand. And yes, Nucleum is a very heavy game!KuWizard wrote: ↑28 November 2025, 18:11I don't have specific information but I do know that popular games (such as Nucleum) are sponsored in 90-95% cases. I understand your point about the game just moving to alpha and the need to wait to see its profitability.KuWizard wrote: ↑28 November 2025, 15:32 The game just moved to alpha and you already asking for expansions?
