What AIs do is like singing a song in a language you don't understand, but much more elaborate. They don't "know" anything, they don't "understand" anything (much less "reason"), they just put words together that make reasonable sentences fitting the prompt and discussion. Giving any credibility to their answers without confirming it through other means is like blindly following the indications of that always-smiling foreigner who only says "yes, yes" to everything.

LLMs are very bad in explaining specific rules of niche games (yes the most board games are a niche). They dont have the data for that but they will always try to answer.

What you could have done is to just look on the opponents map and find the 5 upgrade symbols. You can still go back to the game and look it up. I always pick this map when its available.
