FYI, I received a report that BGA undo feature restores time spent in Connect Four and I was actually able to duplicate it.
Thus I had to opt out of BGA undo and implemented a confirmation mode instead.
However, in other games I used BGA undo I didn't hear anything similar yet. Don't know what the differences are really.

BGA's original undo helper for developers would reload the state of *everything*, including the game clock. It also required all players' browsers to refresh completely. It was very annoying and prone to time abuse.

I believe they've made changes since then to just fix the clock issue, but I have no insight as to whether that automatically applies to all games.

In games I develop, I use my own custom undo system that works internal to the game, doesn't require refreshes, and allows for some very fancy situations where, for instance, a player wants to undo his move in a simultaneous action game without undoing the actions of other players who have been doing things at the same time. It can get very complicated and it's still the top source of players complaining they want more options. It's a thankless thing to work on and extremely bug prone, but it's also in high demand.

When properly imlemented, it doesn't give players unlimited time, but it does still make the game harder to follow. Did you actually take that action five turns ago? Or did you only start and then undo? We even get bug reports from people who complain they purchased an upgrad in the game and the upgrade is broken because our game is bugged. The real reason? They hit undo after purchasing and did something else.
