I am really happy to hear that. And 98% of the time, so do I and likely so do most people. And I understand that downtime happens and things happen. But that same understanding should extend on the other side to us players when things that are the site's fault affect us. Instead of penalizing us, the admins should be apologizing, cancelling the penalties, or devise a system to forgive penalties if glitches happen.

The current system appears to be designed such that if there is a systemwide outage, then penalties are erased. Great. But there should be a way of detecting regional outages or problems that only affect some players. There has been a lot of discussion of this so it is obvious that it is happening. If such detection is not available, then the penalty system should be modified to take this into consideration.
It seems that the penalty system already accounts for this. You lose basically nothing for going over time. Karma penalties are near nonexistent, basic play will overturn the loss of a few points.

True but nevertheless, it is annoying, pointless, and insulting. And if counts for nothing, they should get rid of the system or overhaul it.

Well, since the default reputation is basically 100%, if you're running into someone at say, 0%, you know something is up.

You are right - the -10 points of Karma is not the end of the world, but it is somewhat of a bigger deal with me because I work really hard at not quitting games and on staying on time. 2 out of 4 of my overtime games are actually due to game glitches; only 2 were my fault. And I know practically it is only an issue if a player does it a lot and the information is useful (because I screen out players who are lower than 65% Karma).

But since it is something that is tracked and shown to us, I think the site administrators have the responsibility on their end of making sure that if the glitch is the game / site's fault, that the penalty doesn't occur.

Also, the OOPS page that shows after you quit (or are kicked out of) a game needs to be updated. For example, the site administrators should be humble enough to acknowledge that this could be a site error and if it was, that they apologize for it.

The funny thing here is that the rules of this game site are all about being nice to each other and you can't even complain about another player's bad behavior without possibly getting penalized yourself for such a comment. And yet, the administrators of this site - on this issue - do not treat us players in a respectful manner. The rest of the site is good, and I am grateful for the gaming that we can do here. But on this point, there needs to be improvement.
