Wouldn't a traditional league system be better?

This should be reworded "A traditional league system would be better because...." followed by reasons supporting the declarative statement. Preferably something other than "I'm just used to it in other contexts."

How does one know how many tiers a given game has for the season?

Go to the Arena page for that game by going to a game's lobby (for example, search for it using the search function in the top left of most pages) and scroll down to "My Arena history." Then click "View all seasons."

If "My Arena history" does appear on that page (for example, because you've never even played the game before), you can get to the Arena pages with this URL: https://boardgamearena.com/halloffame?game=[game #]&season=X

X is the season number (currently 25). The game # can be found by mousing over the "game in progress" link on the game page or right-clicking the link to save the address, which will contain the game # to insert above (without the brackets).

What's the logic for relegating everyone at the end of the season? Most games don't operate this way. Usually poor performers are relegated and good performers are promoted.

I think you are confusing “direct” with “rude”. I haven’t seen anybody be rude. They’re just looking for clarifications on what you are even talking about. Like, it’s all well and good to talk about end-of-season promotions and relegations, but since that’s not even remotely how things are set up, the question

I am new to BGA and am struggling to understand a system whereby you are constantly promoted but never relegated, apart from at the end of the season. This is different to league systems I have encountered previously. I was hoping other forum users might be friendly, welcoming, tolerant and patient. Clearly this was not a hope I should have entertained.

The nomenclature is very odd. It's a completely made up system that you've never seen before. It's not really a division\league system as you would expect. Take it with a huge pinch of salt.

Well, you charged in and said, “the system makes no sense! You should do things my way!” One person then suggested you should provide actual reasons instead of broad declarations, and another person asked for details (“promoted to what?”), but sure, they’re the rude ones.

Lest I be mistaken here, I personally do think the current system is silly. But, were I in a mood to suggest changes (which I wouldn’t be unless I had some faith that anybody in charge was listening), I sure wouldn’t go about things your way.
