Les gars, je connais les règles et je sais quelles sont les sanctions, mais c'est tellement injustes quand c'est à moi qu'on les applique !

- it is > 2p. Your leaving affects the outcome for everyone and when some one leaves everyone else ties, so the winner is no longer the winner.
Luckily you can only concede a 2p game.
That's good. Let's hope they switch from quitting (any player count) to conceding, or playing it out.

It happened again today and I got a karma penalty. I had literally played just a few hours ago. There is absolutely no freaking reason I should’ve gotten a time penalty when I just played a few hours beforehand. I don’t have my phone in my hand 24 seven this is ridiculous.

This was a fast turn-based game. Only 0.5 hours gets added to your clock every move in a fast turn-based game. So if your clock was already low and you were gone "a few hours" by your own admission....what did you expect?

"A few hours" > 0.5 hrs

Fast turn-based is too fast for someone who wants to be able to step away for a few hours on average and keep up. Stop entering games with that setting.

Ed.: There was even less time added than I thought, making the expectation that staying away for hours will have no consequence even less reasonable.

I assume you mean this game: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=839055892

This was a 24 turn-per-day game. You only get a half hour added to your clock with each turn! If you don’t want to play constantly, why would you join this game??

Furthermore, the playing hours* were 3a-3p Eastern Time aka midnight to noon Pacific Time (I don’t know where in the US you are). Again, why would you join this game??

*Reminder: games faster than 4x/day have playing hours; the clock only counts down 12 hours per day and pauses (so you can sleep etc) the other 12. Joining a game whose playing hours are largely during your sleep time is Not Recommended, but maybe I’m making erroneous assumptions about when you sleep.

I'm guessing it is due to this game which is a fast turn-based game with 8 moves/day during what looks like an inappropriate 12-hour window for you. The clocks in this game only count down between midnight and noon PDT and you are mostly playing in the afternoon/evening, so you are probably losing at least 8 hours a day. Each time you make a move, only 1.5 hours are added to your clock. You probably aren't getting a chance to make many moves when you are actually available to play, since the player from Portugal is asleep (and not being penalized for it).

How are you joining your games? Do you use the "Play now" link at the top of the page, or do you go to a particular game page and join games there? If you are using the game pages, you should not use the flexible setting for the game speed, because BGA will happily add you to these inappropriate games. Feel free to vote for this bug or something similar if you would like this system changed.

I see you are also in another game with the same playing hours, but 24 moves/day. Luckily for you, some other player has not been making their moves, so you have not run out of time there.
Can I ask again how you are joining your games? That may explain why you are finding yourself in fast turn-based games with inappropriate playing hours.

I did notice something weird about your yahtzee game, though. It looks like you got skipped by another player, but other players also got a penalty. The log message suggests they've made a similar change to what they did in Heat so that the game should be able to score normally after a skip, but that didn't seem to work here.

There is a very good reason: You're expected to play more often than that. At least in that particular game. Next time choose a slower speed that better matches your availability.

Depuis quand être certain de perdre est une justification pour ruiner la partie de son adversaire?

Tu pourrais au moins leur demander leur avis avant de le faire. Si tu quittes des parties sans te soucier des conséquences, normal qu'il y ait des pénalités.

Having your phone available 24/7 is not required to avoid time penalties. Notice I have ZERO such penalties showing on my profile.

Just choose game settings compatible with your playing hours and availability.
