"The human mind evolved to be good at spotting patterns, like “All the birds just stopped singing, RUN!!” It doesn’t serve us well in instances of true randomness. We see pictures in the stars and faces in the clouds… and patterns in random board games that aren’t there. You can’t just wave your hands and declare it’s a problem. Make a prediction about your next 20 games, and then see whether you are right or not. If it’s an actual prediction about a “pattern” in randomness, my prediction is that you will be wrong."

Yes, in 20 games, I've observed the same algorithm occurring about fifteen times. When the algorithm isn't in my favor, I have to avoid combos and hope to get high cards. This strategy is rarely used in the physical game.

About 6.1% of the time (use the Hypergeometric Distribution option)

4 or more, or exactly 4? Those are two different questions. This is assuming you are reshuffling everything back into the deck after the first draw, or else two draws of 6 cards is the same as one draw of 12.

"I've observed" is not something you simply declare. You have to scrupulously *record* what you have observed, including the precise conditions under which you observed it (like which cards were in the deck at the time, etc.). You also have to, beforehand, specify precisely what "the algorithm" is, which I haven't seen you do anywhere above.

Do you even know what "algorithm" means?

You've actually observed the same algorithm occurring thousands of times. Every time you draw a card (or shuffle the deck, depending on how exactly the game is coded) it's with 99.99% certainty the same algorithm at work. The outcome may be different, but the algorithm is the same.

I suspect there may be a language barrier issue here… while your English is far far better than my French, I suspect you may not be using quite the right words and thus the rest of us get confused. If it’s any help, I welcome you to post in French and we can use machine translation to understand you (or you can post the machine translation yourself).

Also bear in mind that you posted this in the general site-wide “suggestions” forum, and thus many of us will not be familiar with the specific game, so you would do a bit better to be more specific about what’s happening. It’s not clear to me that analogies to drawing aces are the right analogies, and saying things like this next bit… it doesn’t mean anything to me.

1. With 7 cards and 2 pairs, I often play my pairs first (Mime, Mime, then Illusionist, Illusionist) and then play my other singles.
2. In decks with more than 10 cards, with trios and pairs but only one Butler; the Butler is often played first or last, rarely between the 2nd and 9th positions.

Examples, the draft in Challengers! :
1. I get two Vendors in the first draft. After that, I either get no yellow cards or lots of yellow cards in subsequent drafts.
2. Often, I either have decent cards at the start or at the end. In both cases, the good cards to combine with the others either don't appear or all of them appear. This results in an extreme game of easy wins or losses without a fight, due to the draft's illogical algorithm.

You see it's ridiculous ? This happens often in BGA, but rarely with the physical game.
I really have no idea what any of this means. I don’t understand why the order you play your cards in matters to any discussion of randomness, and your definition of “decent cards” or “good cards” is completely absent. Yellow cards? Vendors? I have no idea what the composition of the deck is and thus I simply do not see any of this is “ridiculous”.

So yes, it might be clearer and we might be more able to help you if you a) bear in mind most people here probably don’t play your game, and b) maybe posting in French might make things clearer?
