Problem is you don't play dets til gen 3 at the earliest and at that point it's not good any more. Very unfortunate.FrankJones wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 20:22 So, Thorgate, Lunar Beam, underground detonations, Aquifer pumping, water splitting plant.
Oxygen, Oceans, and temperature all taken care of.

Thorgate lunar beam gen1 is amazing you dont really need to play anything else, just take water splitting and speculate.FrankJones wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 20:22 So, Thorgate, Lunar Beam, underground detonations, Aquifer pumping, water splitting plant.

Rather sabo to hit opponent gen 3 and delay development than guild, but one of those two as last card for sure. Just a decision about whether or not you think hitting them with sabo gives you better chances to win because you flip a MS or guild gives better chances to win because you need to find help gen 6+. Tough for me to say, but I lean sabo.primrose1234 wrote: ↑31 May 2026, 23:55 Thorgate keep pumping WSP lunar beam inventors guild.
4 cards means 36 cash. Gen1 beam and pumping is cash perfect.
Gen2 we have 19 cash. WSP is 12, we can pump on steel, so we can keep 1 and play pumping wsp cash perfect again.
Gen3 we will see where the game transitions. We generate 2 TR every gen passively, that's massive without preludes.
Likely can't afford AI until gen 6 (Science tags to enable it are expensive) and you don't want to make this pivot most likely any ways. AI would probably be a bait. You only take power/heat prod, tiles, asteroids, and bio package scoring for this hand over the course of the game, everything else is a cut. Pumping is required to play WSP. If your opponent doesn't make oceans then you make turning it on even more expensive and delay your game plan which alone probably cuts your odds of winning by more than 65% and our odds are already hella low. No, this hand does the one thing and just the one thing: Bad tr rush and that's it. Fortunately in base 2p format this may be good enough against a lower rated opponent, in fact, usually it is. Your best chances to win this game are to understand the format, your hand, and how to properly find and play the only realistic line. The only question is really Sabo vs Guild and I'd wager Guild is more expensive than the value it might provide and playing it at all likely delays the game by a full gneration, but if you find Deimos or Flows or Nuke Zone off of it then it becomes amazing and worth a lot more than Sabotage.Lytical wrote: ↑01 June 2026, 03:29 The reason I don't like pumping is that sometimes people just drop two oceans for you right off the bat from preludes. Or by gen 2 you ran into ice asteroids. You can just save the money and draw cards instead. I am thinking since we are more TRing than engining, we just skip sabo so we don't slow anything down. Who knows maybe we get a better oxy pumper. Pumping feels too committing, what if I want to go science instead with Mars U or AI on gen 3?
