At the end of the day, we can criticize the system or players’ actions in a general sense, but it’s hard to make exceptions on a case by case basis, because at a certain point things become too hard to prove, or too subjective to determine if someone counts as faulty.
As people have said earlier, in a multiplayer tournament it’s possible that the second player never makes their move, causing the elimination of the first player based on remaining time. It’s a situation similarly unfair as what happened to you, but the site is never going to do something about cases like those because it’s just how the system is set to work. In order to have things change, we need to come up with more general solutions.
