Well, it's not as though we can just conjure up the better ones into our hand, right? The Tree Swallow is a significantly better wetland bird than most.

How often is your opening hand so strong that you can avoid it by playing something better?

Tree sparrow got a specific mention... I feel the Ring-billed Gull & American Coot staring at you right now...

I know tree swallow is playable, but i dont understand why its ranked so high when Coot and Ringed Bill exist. They are better in every point.

First thing beiing, they dont destroy your economy early game.

How does the Tree Swallow destroy the economy in the early game? All 3 birds you mentioned eat two food. Sure, The Tree Swallow requires more specific food, but if it's in your starting hand, you keep a cherry.

Spending a worm and a berry in the blue line is a catastrophy. It also connect with less bonus cards. There is nothing in favor of the tree swallow in comparison of the other two.

I just lost my 10 ranked game streak to a spotted towee/american robin/pie billed start game. I really miss my wood duck.

You and I have different definitions of catastrophe. (And different spellings too, but that's not important. :) )

What exactly is the big issue with the food for the Tree Swallow? If it's in your starting hand, you keep a worm and a cherry.

I feel your pain. I hate when I go on a 10-game win streak by pure skill and tactics, never once winning because I had the better cards, only to then have my streak of mastery rudely interrupted by some unworthy opponent getting some strong early game birds.

A worm and a cherry you need to play pileated woodpecker, which they consider a top three starting bird. Idk, I’m just trying to guess where the tree-swallow dislike comes from. They miss wood duck, PW is in their top three. Of course tree swallow gives cavity space for those PW eggs, but I guess it’s not enough. Poor tree swallow.
