Those settings DO NOT mean that each player is going to make, or has agreed to make, 8/12/24 moves per day. They mean that the table as a whole will make 8/12/24 moves per day if everyone uses the maximum time in the increment and makes no moves outside of the playing hours. In practice, people frequently don't use the maximum of their increment on every single turn and will make some moves outside the playing hours, so it will move faster. Perhaps something like 12/18/36 moves per day for the table. Sometimes it moves a little faster, and sometimes it slows down for a while if someone has built up the maximum of their time bank of 3x the increment and uses most of it for one of their turns.MrBigos wrote: ↑19 August 2026, 20:24 That's my point. I really want to play 24 move per day tables. But players doesn't move 24 times. They move like 4, maybe 6. Some people join such table and they move twice a day... this is annoying.
Time added each turn is appropriate. What isn't are the players who join the table declaring they will move 8/12/24 times per day and they are moving twice.
Ok, you are right. I've run some simulations and you are correct, but only for games without moments of simultaneous turns (likve everybody picks a card from their hand). Lets not focus on such games or moments, those are omitable.Meeplelowda wrote: ↑20 August 2026, 09:22Those settings DO NOT mean that each player is going to make, or has agreed to make, 8/12/24 moves per day. Exactly that.
From my experience, complaining happens very rarely, like 1 in 100 games, but they don't threat, just accept their fate.
I am doing that if the game is in the first half. If in second half, I would rather play a little longer, but actually finish the game I've already invested time.
Well, no. Because such players very often play fast paces games (like flip7) in real time and they boost karma within minutes back to 100. That's why I would like to add karma limit for such players to 95 (which is still good karma, but not enough for people who would like to have 100 karma table).
They never learn...
They are not abusive. They just play slow, ruining game for every other player. But it isn't something that you can report according to the terms & conditions of BGA.
Actually if you sign up for 24 moves per day then you need to be prepared that you have to do 24 moves per day. So you did agree to do that.
This completely unrealistic edge case of instantaneous moves by all your opponents that people (not just you) keep repeating is rather silly I think. If we want to consider events that are low probability, but not impossible, why aren't we all walking around with helmets to protect against stray meteorite strikes?Silene wrote: ↑20 August 2026, 11:39Actually if you sign up for 24 moves per day then you need to be prepared that you have to do 24 moves per day. Because if your opponent always makes their move instantly then only your time will be running and you'll have to do the 24 moves to not lose on time.
