Why is it that my ELO has dropped 144 points in a few days. I was up to 268 and once I got that high my ELO has dropped every single day. I am not a bad player, but other players are getting exactly what they need to win the game. I got 2 Yahtzee's tonight and then they just so happened to get 2 Yahtzee's. There is some kind of cheating going on. I am done with this site. Nothing but rigged games!

let's see... you started playing on july 20th. let's ignore the first 20 games because they have special elo calculations.

from july 22-28 you played ~70games and had a rating pretty stable somewhere around 130 elo.

from july 28 to aug 5 you had a winning streak where you won ~21 out of 24 games. raising your elo to ~270.

then the winning streak stopped and aug 5-19 in 58 games you slowly got back down to ~130.

maybe you should question the winning streak rather than the fact you lost again what you had gained?

When you play people, you don't get the same outcome very time. Even if you usually play better than that opponent, that just means you win more often vs them, and if you play worse, you lose more often, but you'll still have upsets happen. If you face someone you win 50% of the time against, it's not like the games are always going to be win, lose, win, lose, win, lose... that would be ridiculous. The wins and losses will be spread randomly, and sometimes that leads to wins and losses being clumped together, hence streaks.

Still incredibly frustrating and unfair for your ELO to drop that much.

What was unfair? Elo is like a weight, if you are unable to carry it, then it is lightened to something you can bear. As your rating gets lower, you will be given more points for your wins and lose less for your losses vs the same rating until you hit a rating that matches your performance, unless you hit the 100 minimum. It works the other way around too, if you're doing better, your rating goes up and you will lose more and win less vs the same ratings until you hit a rating that matches your performance. There's going to be fluctuations in the short term, especially in games with high luck like Yahztee, but the general goal is to find a rating range you stick around in, and if you want to break out of it you have to consistently play better than before, and even just keeping it while playing requires maintaining your level of play. You fell out of the rating you had because you didn't give a strong enough performance while playing to keep it.

It is hard to win a game when players get exactly what they need to beat you. I play the game consistently the same way.

Yeah, it is!

But it is normal that this happens in games with as much luck as yahtzee. Sometimes you lose from it, sometimes you win from it.

It is also normal that you can have a streak (lucky or unlucky) over many games. Nothing unfair about it.

If these things bother you, it is best to stick to games that have no or few luck involved. There are many great abstracts on here.
