comparing slow players to a terminal disease is such a sweaty thing lmao.

Imagine attacking someone based on their ELO in an implementation of a board game. Not everyone plays to get good, some just want to enjoy games. Bro do you have nothing else going on in your life besides being really good at one board game?

I’ve been reading through this thread and I think it’s important to remember that we’re all here because we enjoy playing games.

Regardless of differing opinions on game speed or ELO, let’s please keep the conversation respectful.

As someone dear to me always says, it’s always nice to be nice. This is a community for everyone to enjoy, and we can definitely hold a discussion without personal attacks of any kind.

Also your ELO tells me all your thinking time is spent on finding a worse move rather than a good move, which means you don't really care about learning the game or winning, so why are you sweating it when it's time to make a decision in the first place? You out of everyone should play instantly, as you have probably spent no time learning what leads to victory, so the quality of your actions is basically random regardless of thinking time behind them. And of course if you want to learn the game by playing and through trial and error only, instead of watching very good players making Youtube video game reviews and guides prior, again; faster play = more trials per minute = more learning.
OP has less than 100 games under their belt and you're telling them to turn off their brain while playing? Yes once you've played this game a lot, the heuristics become unconscious and it just becomes largly a slot machine dopamine simulator. But if you don't have those heuristics, you have to pick them up somehow, and some people like figuring them out for themselves rather than listening to some guy on YouTube. That takes time and thought while playing.

If that annoys you, too bad. People can take as long as their clock allows. If your'e really at the point where your brain is completely off while playing, then watch Netflix or something.
