I regularly create tournaments. I like the 100 elo requirement and leave it at default. It isn't that hard to get 100 elo, because your elo never decreases when it's below 100.

I create single elimination or multiplayer elimination tournaments, because it means the slow players almost all get knocked out in the first round or two. Games in later rounds are guaranteed to finish and usually have competent players.

If there's only 50-100 people who regularly create tournaments, maybe the site should support them more, especially when they create popular tournaments? I.e., I create a 7 Wonders tournament with 200+ players. Maybe there should be 5-10 gift points awarded to the winner of a large tournament, and maybe 5-10 points per month for creating a popular tournament. (has to be capped so it isn't abused)
