The timer only showed 5 minutes, not 30 minutes.....
How do we enforce one hour time limit? will miss next game at this rate

Well, at least you found the game room... still no idea when the Series I joined kicks off, whether the matches times are strict or whether you are just expected to take part in 3 matches within a timeframe. It's a shame no one associated with the event is responding here, nor elsewhere that I can find...

I told it 1 week ago, 10 series is a lot... so they "close 6".
Some people check it and re-join to another open group.

Can anyone who has played today, or knows the answer, post the starting time CEST for all matches, so I at least get a small chance to turn up and make sure my opponents have to do something to accrue their score?

Hi,
Thank you to all participant to this first phase. As said before, there have been not enough participants to keep the 10 original series so they have been reduced to 4. Players who have previously registered to the removed series has been personally warned by email to give them a chance to join another serie.
We are now discussing with CGE about how to reorganize the second phase of the tournament to make it consistent to the number of players.
Thanks again.

I hope is was only because this kind of turnament is still new to BGA and number of players was much lower than anticipated.
I thing it was partly fault of CGE. There was practicaly no promotion of this turnament from them so only players who already are on BGA knows about it
My opinion is there is no need to reorganize second turn. With 40 players 3 rounds are optimal for choosing best 20.
Harder will be final. You need 6 rounds to be sure you gain sure winner out of 40. It would be very annoying to win all games but to be second or worse just because you get paired with weaker players.

There have been banners on boardgamegeek.com which I consider the most important part of advertisement among international gamers.
I just wonder when the tournament continues.

Next round is supposed to be tomorrow and we still don't have starting times or info about how the whole 'top 20 get invited' is going to be altered (since clearly that won't work now). No offense but this was pretty poorly executed...

I agree. Checking here several times a day since Friday night to check if/how the tournament continues for me but nothing.
