I had changed this string before from hits to gewonnen. As the word hits (succès (fr), hits (en)) is displayed on your profile page next to a certain percentage. I thought this would be the percentage of games won by total amount of games played but these percentages seem to be off by loads for quite some of my games (example 33 games played 4 wins 33% won? should be 12%). Changed it back to gewonnen now, becuase i agree hits just looks dull. Maybe a moderator could elaborate a bit on said numbers?

cheers,
Sawyer
I'm not a moderator, but I seem to recall this from somewhere...

The hits percentage is how likely you are to win a 2-player game, even if you have played games with more people.
So, let's say 4 people each play 4 games with each other, each of them winning once. They will have a win % of 25%. However, since they are all even, they will end up having hit % of 50% -- 50-50 chance of them beating each individual player.

Time.

If a translation isn't changed for 60 (?) days then they are validated as no one who plays in that language has seen a reason to change it. Thus it is highly likely that translation was correct.

@anakbawang:

I have fixed the bad copy pasting you reported for the Indonesian translation of RFTG. Thanks!

I'll add to qwertasdfg's explanation about validation that players who have already translated more than 100 strings which got validated are considered as "trusted translators" and have the possibility to fix validated strings if they notice some problem. Also, when someone with an interest in improving translations asks for it in the forum, we can update their account to give them the right to fix validated translations. If you have such an interest in proofreading the Indonesian translation, please let me know.

Cheers,

This is actually pretty interesting. Is there any statistic showing how many users actually use a certain language (per game module/in general)?

I would feel greatly honored to do so! At the moment the only game I am comfortable with, rules-wise, is RFTG, so I'll start with that. I am starting to regularly play some Through the Ages, that would probably be the next project.

When we need some specific statistics like this to check if something needs to be improved (and in what direction), we extract them directly from the database.
I don't have anything recent enough to be relevant, last time we looked at this was one year ago.

Done, then! (you might need to logoff/logon for this to take effect).
Have fun and thanks for your interest in improving translations.

Hi.

I have found some inconcistencies in Korean translations of Puerto Rico among the validated translations.
Can I get the ability to update validated strings? I want to fix all mistranslations that I have found or I will find..

Hi,

there is a problem in the wording of the movement cards in Nautilus, possibly in all languages. As the translation to "German" (and other languages) is already validated, it is not possible to update it for me.

As it is a problem for many languages, I submitted a bug.
