What have you turned the end of the season into?
I had several TBD games that I had to win, but the rivals simply did not finish them, and in the end I lost them (btw, why?)
Handsome!

Btw, even in "winning" by that rile games I lost rating points :)

"If your turn based game is not finished at the end of the Season, the player who used the most thinking time during the game will lose the game.
All the other players will be considered winners (tied)."

I think that this part of the rule doesn't work very well and it could be improved.
I know the purpose was to avoid cheating but not all slow players are cheating and closing a game can be "sad" and can affect league and ELO rankings in a wrong way.

I suggest that the games should continue for ELO purpose, without giving League points to the faster players but only League penalties to slow players, for instance:
- you are the slower player in only one game? no penalties
- you are the slower player in 2-5 games? -10 league points
- you are the slower player in more than 6 games? -50 league points.

In some games (Clans of Caledonia) players make different amount of moves. And usually the stronger player makes more moves and spends more time, of course (as he often cannot play right after the opponent due to the time difference and access to the game)

This is a terrible rule. The old system was much better, when the games could be finished, even though not counting to the Arena standings. I don't even care that I lost in a few games because of it, but we all lost the possibility to finish exciting games on several tables.
It's a fair rule that prevent "dark arts" :-)

This solution has been found with the BGA community and is by far superior to the previous rules.

I don't agree with your sugestion, and i give you a real example:

This season, i was in arena game against 2 others players.
https://boardgamearena.com/1/lewisclark?table=131836323

I was in 2nd position of arena and one of the other players was in 1st with 3 points lead.

I was winning the game and the other player was playing slow for long time, more than 1 day per move.
At the end of arena I just needed 1 turn to win, and the other player didn't play, so game was canceled.

With your rule no penalties for him and no reward for me? really?
Did your rule prevented the abuse? No...
Did the actual rule punish the abuse? Yes...

While it prevents the abuse in your case, there are many "innocent" players suffering with all solutions based in "used the most thinking time".

During the holidays I had more time to play so I've opened a bunch of Turnbased tables and played at reasonable Turn Times. Both Arena and normal mode.

But now that the holidays were over I have less Time to play.

What happened is as follows: Because time left per turn in Arena Mode gets restored after each turn the "go to next table" Rotation presented me normal mode games where the clock keeps running first. Therefore I played less in Arena Mode without really realising.

Should I now get a penalty, even while I was always within my time left? Doesn't sound fair.

I realize there was a problem but the solution created a new problem. It happens, this case only shows that the rule still needs improvement.

Absolutely disagree, for me the previous rule was better. I see that there are several different cases and perspectives. Maybe I am too naive but i don't think that most people would play purposefully slowly.

I've noticed in some games that the timer changed from 2 Days to 5 Days.

Was this because of some players using their "holiday joker" or was it related to the Season ending?
