I agree with those who ask at least the ban of the Russian flags. Some Russian players have changed their image with an anti-war symbol and this is good, and means that fair Russian players would agree with some measures toward Russian symbols.

I had to search before finding this thread, since I previously read the threads in the 'Off-topic' section of the forum: this is not enough as a message against what is happening in Ukraine! BoardGameArena looks to me as a place where Russian players can behave as nothing horrible is happening. The post that began this thread is not even in the 'Official Announcements' section. Look for example ###moderated/advertising#####: a Ukranian flag is host in the home page and in each chat of each table. I'm not sure that the statement which is «displayed as a link on BGA homepage for all players from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine» is a clear enough message.

I appreciated the Russian players who wrote in this thread, and i am thankful with BGA for giving us the possibility to keep in human contact with players living in the 'aggressor country'.

Edit: I wanted to link a website where you can play backgammon and other games, to show how much they took position in solidarity with Ukrain, but some moderators thought that i was doing an advertising.

No need to ban anyone. We all have a choice to play with, or not, other folks here. I am happy to wait a bit longer for a game in order to exercise my choices.

If you are interested in the version of russian propaganda, then this theater was bombed by ukrainian nazis

Hello! I'm from Russia. I registered here quite recently. I did not look for politics here, but there are no places without politics now. I described my attitude to what is happening in my profile. I will only speak for propaganda in Russia. First, people have been told this on TV for many years. We (all people) do not bother to verify all the facts that we have been continuously told for several decades, first on TV, then most people around. Secondly, we have almost no opportunity to receive other information. You tell me - turn on the Internet and everything is easy to find. But alternative information is designed for Western or Ukrainian readers. (There are exceptions) A Russian reader cannot read the news, where he is called offensive words in Russian. Also cannot understand news or analytics in other languages.
The situation is so bad that even if we have an open opportunity to see and read the truth, I think it will take a very long time to change people's thoughts.
Some of my friends have distanced themselves from me because I make arguments against the logic of propaganda.
