And who are you to dictate what "fun" is for me? My fun is winning the game as described in the official rules of the game.
If playing to win by being malicious to other players is what you think of as fun then you need to work on yourself. Don't be a villain.
If being malicious within a game - played for fun and no consequences on real life - feels malicious to you as a person then maybe YOU should work on yourself ;).

We competitive players like a good fight. I enjoy trying my best to beat the other player. And I enjoy when the other players tries their best to beat me. This is fun to me. Regardless of who wins in the end.
There's a difference between a good fight and being malicious just to be malicious like some players I've encountered are, especially the ones who rub it in your face as they do it.

I feel that your version of fun is unsportsmanlike, as you are not giving other people a challenge in the game, as per the official rules.

Like I said, why is your definition of fun more important than mine?
LOL how is playing to win without purposely irritating the other players unsportsmanlike? Please tell me. It can still be a challenge to win.
I never said "my definition of fun is more important" than yours, don't put words in my mouth. There's a line, that you've apparently crossed without hesitation, between playing by the rules and playing to win at the expense of hurting others in such a way as to be malicious. Don't worry I've already given you a personal red thumb so I never have to play with the likes of you.

Earlier you said "Those types of people are not playing for fun". Wasnt putting words in your mouth.

"the likes of me"? LOL, i've never made a malicious move in any board game in my life. You make it sound like ANY blocking is done with the sole intent of insulting the other player.

It's not. For most of the people here that you are arguing with, its simply strategic. I'm sorry you have run into jerks who harass you about it, Please report those types. I am not one of those.

If I have the choice to finish a 5 point ticket, or block your 20 point ticket, what do you think I should do?

In soccer, should the goal keeper not block a shot?

You did put words in my mouth, saying you're not playing for fun is not saying my definition of fun is more important. Maybe you just have a warped idea of fun then that aligns with villains and malicious behavior then.

We obviously have different morals. Anyone who thinks blocking every route from a city or every possible connection someone can take is fun has issues. Like I said before, there's playing for fun and there's playing for fun at the expense of hurting others which is malicious behavior.

Sure, take the one route that blocks my 20 point ticket, thats not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the people who will intentionally block every connecting route possible over and over again, not even focusing on their own tickets one bit. I played someone last week who tried to block every single connection from LA after I took LA to SF. I ended up having to go LA>SF>SL>Portland>Seattle>Helena>Denver>Oklahoma City just to make my connection. They also blocked SF>Portland and SL>Denver. I was only able to make the final connection thanks to a plethora of wilds I had. Of course as soon as I did they asked to abandon the game, probably because it was only fun for them to block me until I succeeded in my connection and they hadn't worked on their cards at all.

Soccer is a completely different game and not at all comparable here.

Ok, dismissing the rest of it, let me ask a hypothetical question. If your opening tickets are all 4 and 5 pointers, what's your overall game strategy?

Keep the ones that work easily together and the draw more and better tickets, duh.

and here we go! another person about to complain about blockers in the game. YES, YES I AM! I just played a game and we were evenly matched, it was literally coming down to the longest train 10 points. oddly we both started with the same ELO. I could tell I wasn't going to win. I just wanted to finish my last route. But NO, they used the last of their cars to block my final stretch.

SO, yeah kind of sick of the people who just block you to be rude! I literally dropped my premium sub and when it runs out and I have less access to the games I love, I will probably drop my account completely.

Maybe! In the meantime, I am thumbing down players to avoid them. I suggest that as an option, thumbs down, "just my opinion" and "I want to avoid this player".

then my win history would say you're wrong.

Since you brought it up, your win history would imply they are right. Your win percentage, which is what I'm assuming you meant by win history, is nothing to write home about. That said, I dislike using that stat as a reference since it only says how a player is doing relative to their opposition. If someone has a win rate of 20% facing the top 100 players, they're playing better than someone who has an 80% win rate against people who are playing their first game ever. You need to check the player quality to help reduce oversights like that.

So I checked what sorts of players you're facing. Looking at the ratings after the game, your last game was against a 206, 177, and a 100. The previous one was against a 203, 4, and 1. The one before that a 228, 123, and 195, preceded by a 135, 80, and 56. You're not even allowed to lose points at 100 or lower. Even if we decide to bump those numbers up and say you're facing 100s, 200s, hopefully even 300s, we're talking very low-level games.
