5x Arena games within the last day that all had a player roll a triple Yahtzee in a single game. In 2/5 games the other player also rolled a double Yahtzee.

The chances of seeing 5x triple Yahtzee's for either player in 91 games is astronomically low.

The probability of getting a Yahtzee is ~4.6%, considering 2 reroll opportunities per round, and each player plays 13 rounds per game.
The chance of someone getting 3 Yahtzees in a single game is not THAT low, especially when you cherry-pick games from the game history.

Games like dice that heavily rely on luck can often lead to players feeling like the game is rigged when things don't go their way. It's just the nature of these games that outcomes can be unpredictable and sometimes it feels like the odds are against you. But in most cases, it's just the randomness of luck at play.

Seems it would be pretty low to me. Especially if you're only looking at one day.

It's probly even a little less than that if you factor in the fact that the players probly don't go for a yahtzee every single turn. Although they would most turns.

It's probly even much lower chance of someone getting 3 yahtzees and the other player getting a double yahtzee, if that happened as Iced claimed.

edit: I clicked into those 5 games- I confirm it is as they claimed.

How'd you find those?

edit: never mind- i clicked into them and see they're all your games within 36 hours of each other. Not cherry picked as ufm thought.

There is around 90 games between the first and the last of those games.
So yeah, it's cherry picking.

Apparently the chance of geting a Yahtzee in 3 rolls is hard to calculate, nobody agree. But it's around 4.5%. So I will trust ufm, and take their 4.6%.

Now we got 13 turns. 15 turns with the two extra Yahtzee. I will consider that you goes for a Yahtzee on 12 of those 15 turns.


So your chances to get no Yathzee in one game is 56.8%.
Your chance to get 1 is 32.8%
Your chance to get 2 is 8.27%
Your chance to get 3 is 1.40%
Your chance to get at least 3 is 1.57%
for each player, every game.

So we will keep that 1.57%.


Now let's play 90 games and see how many of them will get 3 yahtzee or more from your opponent.
- none: 24,1%
- one: 34,6%
- two: 24,5%
- three: 11,5%
- four: 4,0%
- five: 1,1%
- five or more: 1,4%

So if 72 players plays 90 games, and the (un)luckiest one share their 5 games with the most yahtzee from their opponent player, it's what you should be getting.
Same if the poster play 72*90 games (not counting the fact that they can start from any game, so it's the 4%+1,4% I should have taken, not the 1.4%, and not counting overlaps but that start to be tricky and hard to explain. If you play one game, then got 50 games without 3 yahtzee, and then another game with 3 yahtzee, then you should take that last game as a starting point, and play 89 more games. Even for me, that seem to be hard to calculate, without just doing simulations).

That's a small number, the cherry picking part increase a lot the probability.

And Iced never talked by the past on the forum. So they are in the whole silent community where any player who get some bad luck (which is not the case of Iced here, 1.7% from a weird claim like that is not weird) can share it on the forum.
