Yesterday I had 20 hours left in my turn based tournament game and my time wasn't restored. Now I only have 1h left :(

Seems to be down again. I got through 8 games before things fell over and the discussion thread lit up with other people reporting the same thing.

While true, there is an enormous increase in reliability if you are renting server time, versus running one's own servers. I wonder which approach are you using?

As far as we can see the server seems to be running fine.

That game has been abandoned.
As for penalities, as explained in the update post, they have been removed.

We use dedicated servers rented in a datacenter. Renting virtualized resources has been tried, but it's too expensive for our usecase, and virtualization has got traps of it's own...
