My reading of this is it is not a feature, but if you've got the real estate open two browser windows and point them at the same table.

Apple could easily create a browser that conformed to current standards and didn't have all those annoying, time consuming (for developers) bugs. What's most annoying and harmful to the web, though, is that they don't do that AND they block the other browsers on iOS.

I have no specialized knowledge. But a cursory Google found a source that claimed Webkit was the compliant one, and Blink was the one causing trouble.

I'm utterly unsurprised that its not clear and easy.

But I would suggest the latest common feature set is the one people at BGA take as "this is what works"?

A cursory Google (and the Internet in general) can find you a source claiming anything that you want to be true, but as a developer I can assure you that the anger in the web developer community against Safari is getting strong because the opposite of what you are claiming is true. Hence Firefox is aligned with Chrome and Safari is the odd one out. And hence this post by the BGA people (with whom I have no affiliation) expressing the frustration web developers are experiencing at all the time they lose making things compatible with Safari.

Keep in mind that Google's revenue depends on the health of the web, and for Apple it is the opposite. Hence Google's long history of big contributions to web standard and tools (like Chrome). I'm not claiming any company is being altruistic - they are just doing what's in their interests, to the extent we let them get away with it. That's why we need more companies like BGA that are willing to call out Apple for what they are doing to the web.

Just to say thanks to all for BGA - It has bought me a huge amount of pleaseure since I discovered it. Keep up the good work.
