Some thoughts:

Directed and hostile remarks like some we’ve seen on this thread are pointless. Please don’t engage others, especially newcomers, in hostile, harmful rhetoric.

Also, please don’t defend the people who engage others this way.

People complain, people speculate. Totally normal behavior. Complaining about a game is impersonal and not directed at anyone. Offering up the idea to leave is personal and totally rude.

Spare me the retorts, too. If you’re angry right now, you’re the problem, not the complainer.

If you want the best backgammon experience and believe that the dice here on BGA are not random, as I and many believe they are not as perfect as they should be , then check out these other 3 backgammon sites which are used by the professional backgammon players every day and the randomness of the dice IS VALIDATED and known to be accurate:

1) Backgammon Studio Heroes (web) - Note you need to be approved bu another user for entry (to protect against cheat bots)
2) Backgammon Galaxy (web and mobile)
3)Backgammon Hub
I have played on these sites for many years now and can validate that the dice are random and while there are always going to be some crazy swings that is the luck of the draw when you are using dice in any game. If it CAN happen then it just MIGHT happen one day.

Hope this is helpful

I know that this is months later. But I cannot believe that a moderator didn't step in on the rudeness I saw here and simply delete the messages before it escalated.

People have a right to state an opinion. This is supposed to be a safe space and they don't have a right to be rude to one another. The rudeness that I witnessed would have gotten you banned on some other sites.

I too agree that it appears that the dice on BGA Backgammon are not as random as they should be. I am done with Backgammon on BGA as a result. I already stopped playing Cribbage for the same reason. With Cribbage, It seems that it's dealing out scenarios rather than simply dealing out random cards from a randomly shuffled deck.

I have no interest in defending my opinions, but they are MY opinions and I don't have to defend my opinions.

I have played way too many times on many different sites and in the real world. I was going to start stating examples, but decided that I don't have an interest in proving anything. The programmer of the game knows how it is programmed. If it's anything other than truly random, I ask that you fix this. I'll come back and try again in the future, but I'm done for now.

You need to apologize for your arrogance.

I’ve played some terrible backgammon apps but nothing as ridiculously bad as this. The opponent didn’t even know how to play. Had 5 to 6 open at all times. And won. Brutal. And unplayable
Lol.

Your 3 games of backgammon on here definitely make you more of an expert than the many, many thousands of games and numerous statistical analyses that many of us (mathematics, statisticians, scientists, computer programmers, psychologists, expert backgammon players, etc.) have done over the years.

It's one thing to come on here asking questions, but to come on here after 3 games and declare that you've found a problem is pretty disrespectful. And you didn't even take 30 seconds to look at other forum posts where this has been discussed in detail along with supporting tests and probability discussions.

Feel free to delete or edit your post and apologize when time allows. ;)

Nah the op needs to apologize for insinuating that the hard-working volunteer developer loaded the dice.
