let us use the 5-6 player extension for less than 5-6 players matches. would love to just have bigger maps, all my physical versions i made sure to get the 5-6 player extensions for that reason.

I think it is because of board size. In the 5-6 games you can then start to have custom tables and layouts. Becomes difficult to do that and keep your servers up and running.

I think Seafarers would be a better use of time and resources. Or an Arena and separate area for Cities and Knights. Hate having people join my table, launch and get oh, I don't know this game and leave.

The Catan 5-6 player expansion should 100% be added as an optional expansion. Came in here to ask for it and it was one of the first things I saw, so there is definitely demand. Everyone complaining about board size and game length doesn't have to play it, it can be optional just like any other expansion.
I look forward to family game nights with my girlfriend's family and Catan is one of our favorites. But if her sister (who is in a different timezone and isn't always there) shows up, we can't play.
I would love the ability to, and I'm sure many others would! It seems like BGA should definitely have this as an optional expansion!
