Has anyone successfully used Auto in the first stage of a Groups tournament? At least 2 tournaments did not start when scheduled. See https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42724

I'm running into the same problem. The tournament using auto just doesn't start.

BGA has said they are aware of the problem and working on a fix: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=169217aSeriousGamer wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 22:24 I'm running into the same problem. The tournament using auto just doesn't start.

OK. I have a data point on the "auto" setting. It looks like it goes strictly by the number of players, regardless of whether you have an undefeated player. This tournament had 33 entries, one more than the 32 that would guarantee* a single player with 5 wins after five rounds. However, we still ended up with a player win five wins after five rounds, yet we've gone on to round 6.

Wow, thanks for sharing Meeplelowda. This confirms that Auto is strictly based on number of registered players and has nothing to do with scores.Meeplelowda wrote: ↑09 July 2025, 09:49 OK. Any idea why this one is showing 5 matches for only 13 players? You should only need 4 for up to 16 players, assuming no game can be tied. Is it also adding matches in anticipation that ties may need to be broken?

Not sure what's going on, but I created a 2p Swiss tournament with the Auto setting and we have 30 players, one clear winner after round 5, and then we got a sixth round anyway. No clue why.BananaHarambe wrote: ↑09 July 2025, 17:02Wow, thanks for sharing Meeplelowda. This is a similar issue with the tournament above that had 13 (now 14) players, but it scheduled 5 rounds.Corwin007 wrote: ↑16 July 2025, 15:25Not sure what's going on, but I created a 2p Swiss tournament with the Auto setting and we have 30 players, one clear winner after round 5, and then we got a sixth round anyway. What’s going on in this Faraway test tournament? 180 ish players for 3 player.
I would expect 5 matches to make a winner, but there has been 6 so far. Doing round number math based on 2p it might go to 8 matches?
However it is stuck at 6 rounds complete for 14 hours now with no new pairings and says 100% complete? Keep posted on it. I’m curious what happens.
EDIT: NEVERMIND THERE WAS STILL ONE GAME LEFT, NO BUG
