The elo system is messed up for bang because
A) it is still using the old team elo format. Meaning players lose elo to their own teammate when they have more elo than them. This keeps the entire community closer in ranking than they should be. I’m still unsure why other team games had this problem fixed and bang is more popular than others but that problem was ignored.
B) Even w/ the new adjusted team elo that is also a bad ranking system. It doesn’t account for your teammate when calculating win probabilities. So it is constantly dragging down stronger players keeping the player pool closer in skill than they really are
C) Bang is also unlike other games in the sense that the roles don’t have a equal chance of winning the game. There is enough data to know the win probabilities for each role depending on player count & that should be accounted for in a more accurate rating system of elo distribution.

Ehhh i think some people dont understand what is "OK in multiple accounts..it is meant for IP address not PERSON, i can remember years back when BGA was proud to make it so you can play others from same address and enjoy a game with family say that you dont have the box game. At the same time there is a warning (on simple game) that players from same account. Now multiple accounts from using a cellphone and laptop different IPs thats just wrong. If you ask me it takes a real sad person with a sad life to to this, if their only enjoyment in life is to cheat their way to promos or have a different name so they can jeckyll and hyde. We should really feel sorry for those people..imagine if that was the only way you could get satisfaction.
They say this is a family community, so you can be childish without being a child. I am grateful my life is good enough i dont have to steep to that level to get a simple pleasure

Roles are indeed accounted when earning points (but perhaps not enough), and the arena rankings remain a complete sham.
Even with two devices and two different IP addresses, it's impossible to play at the same arena table if the two IP addresses are geographically close. This seems pretty well done. But a VPN solves everything, including permanent IP address bans. Some who have commented here are well placed to know this.

The ranking system makes no sense because it rewards only and only winning streaks. It does not reward the win ratio. You could lose 300 games then win 20 in a row to be 1st with only 20 games won out of 320, totally ridiculous. Just like the opposite, win 300 games then lose a few after, and not be 1st with 300 wins out of 300 and some games. Statistically the chance of stringing together enough wins to move to 1st will inevitably come one day or another, so it's just a question of playing time, where the luckiest will just take less time than the others. For the ranking to be fair, the win ratio would have to be taken into account but also that points are lost and that the player goes down in the ranking when not playing. It's too easy to stabilize your score by not playing, and it's doable even with 1 account so that's not the issue. Stopping playing to keep your place is obviously not fair play, it's unacknowledged cheating. A season should be played from start to finish. But as long as the ranking system doesn't change, the puppets who believe they're better than the others by stopping playing for 2 months won't change. That's why they must be deprived of victory.
Overall win rate is a joke. It says more about how bad your opponents are then how good you are. Not to mention obvious issues with account history and general skill changes over time. Ideally, the win rates of all players should be roughly 50%. A change in skill level should not lead to a significant change in your win rate, but rather a change in the level of your opposition that eventually smooths out your temporary increase in success.
BGA populations don't generally support this very well, so you end up with unbalanced pairings more often. While I like elo for measuring skill in general, I think it gets less accurate about the degree of difference as the rating gap expands, underestimating the gap in games with low variance and overestimating it in games with high variance.
Regardless, Bang isn't really a great game for making sense of skill. It's high luck, hidden information, requires more than 2 players in a format where they interact with each other's resources. It's an impressive number of ways to maximize reducing the impact skill has on the outcome. You're not going to find the "best" player in Bang because skill isn't the most relevant factor in the outcome.
Saying win rate means nothing in Bang! is the real joke. Over thousands of games, luck and teammate/opponent quality balance out. Everyone plays with the same distribution. What’s left is how you played. That’s why overall win rate is the only meaningful indicator of long-term skill in this game
so you agree with me
