BGA is a steal at $42/yr! To keep it in perspective that's less than the cost of a single physical boardgame. Totally worth it to me.
I play weekly with my sister who lives halfway across the country. It's a great way for us to keep in touch since physical gaming isn't an option for us. Thank you for the great service!

Je ne comprends pas, ce n'est pourtant pas le 1er Avril ?!?
+25% pour un service qui se dégrade de mois en mois...

A 25% increase is way too high and I'm reconsidering my renewal.
You should consider going back to school. It's a 17% increase, not 25%.
Make of that what you will, but I am paying in CAD, and the increase is from 48$ to 60$, which is 25% of 48$.
BGA has a near-zero marginal cost to serve additional customer, as most software companies do. Not zero, mind you, but close enough. They cite a growing customer base (which comes to them with additional revenue at a near-100% margin) as a reason to increase per-customer prices, which is nonsense.
BGA has a near-monopoly on a specific market. They are now owned by a corporate entity and there is pressure to juice that investment for everything it is worth. Expect prices to increase quicker than inflation until competition develops or people drop out in masses. Expect tiered pricing, but not until they have data to prove that existing customers quit due to the higher prices and then they can target people willing to pay more while not leaving too much money on the table.

I agree with Olivia, there should be some other benefit to accomodate this price change.
Though I don't think they should totally remove free access. Perhaps free to all non premium games and a $1 fee to play premium games. So they can at least try a feel for the UI in BGA.
But this suggestion isnt an extra a benefit for Premium members, this is taking away things from free members.

I’d like to continue to support BGA but these year on year multi figure percentage increases are too much. You’re going to kill the golden goose if you don’t take better care of your customers.

Personally I am prepared to go with this second price increase in such a short time, but I have mixed feelings about the situation:
Are we (still) bailing out BGA which is bailing out Asmodee which had to bail out its sisters/(ex) parent, shouldering their dept, being the one profitable piece in the picture?
If BGA is free of Embracer Group and in particular Savvy Gaming Group again (?!?), I am happy with any steps that make its business more robust.
Personally I would rather have less new games and more and refined + more robust features though. E.g. a few extra statistics and achievements should be a quick win I’d love to see.
STILL LOVE THIS SITE!

I will have to think about whether to renew it. I don't care about most of those new features and games and yet I have to pay for them.
You keep adding new games, but yet can't fix the servers.

My first annual subscription was supposed to be a locked $24 a month for the life of the subscription. Unsurprisingly that promise disappeared right along with the purchase of BGA by Asmodee.
From that perspective the annual subscription has increased 75%.
What exactly are the "Loyalty rewards for long-time Premium players"? I'm approaching 5 years of premium membership which isn't loyal enough to get the email. What am I looking forward to if I stick around for another year and presumably another round of price increases?

Dear Players,
Starting
July 1st, 2025, the price of an
annual Premium subscription on Board Game Arena will increase from
36$/36€ to $42/42€.
The monthly subscription remains unchanged at $5/5€.
This update will apply to all renewals after that date and will be adjusted accordingly for other currencies.
Seriously? I received an Email that my annual Premium subscription will increase from 36.00CHF to 48.00CHF. 42 US Dollar are less than 35 CHF. So I could very much expect that you lower my fee. But a raise by 33% is unjustified and unfair. Please adjust the rate or give me the possibility to choose the currency I want to pay in, the current proposal is beyond laughable.
Awaiting your prompt reply.
