I think the project's codename is "Time Machine" because it is a giant leap backwards...
The vast majority of players here prefer live games. Why is BGA going against popular opinion?

Okay, following your messages I feel obliged to be more clear:

Board Game Arena is a real-time platform and we don't want to change this. Not today, not tomorrow, never.

That said, there is no reason to provide new way of enjoying board games beside the main BGA purpose. The vast majority of players (as you guys) won't use them, but we expect to attract new players to BGA with these new functionalities. I don't understand how this could be a problem.

Anyway I support your spirit to increase the community. Enlarging the community should give more persuading powers when asking boardgame publishers for their licenses!

I object to it strictly on the basis that this site is running sooooo slow at the moment while you code it or whatever it is you're doing. It's almost intolerable to play.

Also, how come in the forum my avatar hasn't changed to match the one I have now?

Honestly, I'd rather not attract players that are interested in playing a single game over a matter of days/weeks/months. That might just be me though....hang on a sec, its not. It's all of us.

I should start a thread about what we, the community, actually want to see implemented (if there's not already one, i havent looked).
The stand out #1 is more games, obviously.
Personally I'd like to see more tournaments, or at the very least more of a variety of starting times. Basically all tournaments start at 5am for me and all the others in my time zone.

I just want to take the opportunity to thank the developers of this site for their hard work. I think they've earned our trust over the last several years with the way they've run this site. I'm sure "time machine" will end up being something that's better for everyone. Thanks BGA!

I appreciate and welcome your efforts to introduce the new functionality to the site. Even though I’m not a great fun of asynchronous play, I’m sure it will make BGA better.

However, I would be much happier if you fix some of the many bugs reported long time ago, especially the Prestige points bug, which is extremely annoying, happened numerous times and makes the Most prestigious player list erroneous most of the time.

I know that fixing the bug is not an easy task to do, but I don’t understand how such an important bug could still be in the status Open, and not even Confirmed?
