Maybe it's fixed, but other things got broken:
viewtopic.php?t=50537
I'm also getting "Are you connected to the internet?" messages and infinite waits when using boardgamearena.com/forum, while forum.boardgamearena.com works smoothly. Perhaps it's related to having 1333 "known" games, all of which are passed in the URL for every darned forum link, even though it's only ever useful in the main forum page?

This is a bizarre design choice.

Especially when you consider they've recently done a "fix" in this area.

Same here starting within the last day. 1336 known games here.

If only there were a way to have it forget known games you're no longer interested in. If joining a group for a game by playing it does a .append() (or the equivalent in whatever language is used for this functionality) to your list of known games, why can't it .remove() it when you leave? I'm trying to figure out why that would not be technically feasible.

Of course it's feasible.

That's basic coding. no reason it shouldn't be implemented. Any of us could wrote that line of code ourselves. I don't need to see the forums for games I played once in friendly mode.

IMO, there is really no need to have game-specific subforums visible by default at all. You can get to them from the game page already on the rare occasions you want to. They could even have a (state saved) toggle button on the forums to show/hide them for those who may frequent them. Or show/show recent games/hide.

It's probably just leftover from when the site was small and it didn't really matter.

Just checked a couple games and the forums area on them now say "No post on the forum for now." even though the forum DOES have posts, but if you click on the "create a new topic" link, it takes you to the game-specific subforum. Also, some newer games do not have a subforum yet, in which case there is no "create a new topic" link. Maybe a step for beta (or alpha?) release is being overlooked or it needs to be added to the checklist.

Hopefully BGA is watching some of these threads. I've grown sick of entering bugs.
