Here we discuss better ELO just so that it is accurate. On the rest, I totally agree with you (kinda frustrating to play 2 or 3 games in a row with guys who don't even say "hello"). But maybe can it be discussed in another thread ?

After creating yet another Puerto Rico table for players ranked Average Level and Above and having a 1200 ELO player who clearly did not know what he was doing ruin the game, I want to say, yet again, that we need to narrow down the Average Level category. I didn't boot him because he technically is considered Average Level, so he had every right to join my table. It would have been rude of me to kick him out, but at the same time, I wanted to play with people 1500 and above.

For me, it's not about being afraid of losing to a lower ranked player; it's about wanting to play with people who are at or around my level. It's makes the game more fun and challenging. I'm not sure why the mods are afraid of creating a "novice" or "apprentice" category. A person who has won 5 games out of 60 played is NOT AVERAGE LEVEL.

Possible for a player hit the "master" level without winning any games (like 6 nimmt), when they drop to 1599 or lower again, they are a begginner.

I would like to see an input ELO range that the starter of a game could specify, such as only gamers with ELO 1400 - 1500. Popular games like Puerto Rico have a wide variety of skillsets in the average category, and this would help you match others at your level better.

Agreed - Puerto Rico is definitely a game where "average level" needs a narrower focus. In my experience, the lowest ranked player almost always makes questionable moves that imbalances the game. I have to restrict my tables to "Good Players and Above" to keep the below 1500 people out. I'm fine with playing with those who are 1501+, but BGA doesn't let us restrict by ELO.

There are some games where I don't restrict by level (Can't Stop, Colt Express, etc.), mostly because these are easier to learn and one player doesn't ruin the entire game.
