I'm sure this has been mentioned earlier in this thread, but playing AMC in a 3-player game is paying a lot for titanium production while only harming one other player. Doesn't seem like a great play early in the game. The player not involved watched as one opponent pays 16 MC for titanium production while the other opponent loses titanium production. Seems like a good situation for the player not involved and a sub-optimal situation for everyone else.

Holy necro revival of a thread, Batman!

:)

Your house rule sounds fine; there's some good folks on here (<3 you Stranded Knight). They have some cool websites and videos on the cards that gain you the most ELO when played. I don't remember seeing Asteroid M Consortium.

All the attack cards are brutal in 2p for sure. There are still about 11 cards I would nerf (change) for balance reasons before I would consider nerfing AMC.

ahah

well, if its not good early, then its even worst late, right? (: unless you have a bunch of jovian x1

and yeah, its not the best card to play gen1, but sometimes its all you have.. (: i have played many games when i just skipped the whole 1st round, i would love to have one of those to play, and many more i just paid 18$ for the ocean

and in the 3p example, being the person on the -1 end of things just makes it even worse than if it was a 1v1 ahah, then you know you had to be the one being picked, in 3p game and gen1 it was probably random, or worse.. metagame based ;) maybe check their ELOs and attack the highest one

With the advent of Hellas, I would like to state that amc is the best card in the game, due to the fact that every player seems to have the prod due to 100% Point Luna rate and gen 7 Asteroid mining being an excellent play.

The problem with this argument is that it's highly relevant when all 3 players have a similar chance of winning, but highly irrelevant when it's a 2-horse race.

In my experience in most 3P and 4P matches you only have 1 real adversary for the victory. But yea, when there are 3 or more, it's a bad play.

And that's why only being allowed to lay it on turn X+ (4 in our case) makes it a better card in the sense that it forces an actual decision, estimating who is ahead (in 3p+ games of course), instead of possibly just targetting a random opp. during the first gen

It's not just Asteroid Consortium. There are lots of cards that literally break the game in 1v1. I have no idea why you would play Mars with 2p other than casually.
