Fixing Validated Translations

Re: Fixing Validated Translations
Hi! I've spotted a wrong translation in Gaia Dutch:
"plain" is currently translated into "gewoon" (this is Dutch for usual/common).
In the Gaia context, plain refers to the landscape. The correct translation is therefore "vlakte".
Please let me know if that's enough info or if there's something else I should do to improve

Here is a correction that I can not make (being new user/player):
from the english:
from the english:
to french:The table administrator does not want more players at this table
L'administrateur de la table ne prend plus de joueurs à cette table
Re: Fixing Validated Translations
Well, the current translation "L'administrateur de la table ne veut pas plus de joueurs à cette table" is correct, no need to change it.pistolstar wrote:Here is a correction that I can not make (being new user/player):

There is a mistake in French Madeira that has been bugging me for some time. In the description of the building action for Alfandega, it currently says :
I think this is grammatically correct and more in line with the other buildings :
I don't see how any native speaker could have translated it like that and validated it, unless the actual game is mistranslated.Si le joueur paie le coût d'activation et a placé :
1 ou 2 Ouvriers dans la Région 1, il peut placer 1 Ouvrier dans n'importe quelle Colonie (Açores, Brésil, Inde).
3 de ses Ouvriers ou plus, il peut placer jusqu'à 2 de ses Ouvriers dans les Colonies 1 et 2 (Açores, Brésil, Inde).

Re: Fixing Validated Translations
Through the ages:
“This will cancel all your moves from the beginning of your turn. Are you sure?”
Translation:
“Dit zal all je zetten vanaf het begin van je beurt annuleren. Weet je dit zeker?”
The second ‘l’ should be removed.
But I don’t have translator rights...
The second one is “civil unrest”, level 2 event.
It translates “discontent” to “ontevrecen” which should be “ontevreden”

If it helps, this is the original English (stress mine):AntoineBR wrote:There is a mistake in French Madeira that has been bugging me for some time. In the description of the building action for Alfandega, it currently says :

If a player pays the cost and has:

1 or 2 of his Workers in Region 1, he may move 1 of his Workers to any Colony Land (Açores, Brasil, India).

3 or more of his Workers in Region 1, he may move up to 2 of his Workers to any 1 or 2 Colony Lands (Açores, Brasil, India).
Looking at the translation history, somewhere the idea that 2 workers could be moved to one or two colonies (i.e. 2 different ones) got lost, and that "has" got turned into "places." But the quote above is directly from the rules verbatim.
EDIT: Also looks like "move worker" got changed to "place worker." That does have a different meaning, but I don't know the game and so don't know if that's harming anything.
Re: Fixing Validated Translations
Contracting "any 1 or 2" to "any" seems to just lose out on a bit of clarity.Liallan wrote:Looking at the translation history, somewhere the idea that 2 workers could be moved to one or two colonies (i.e. 2 different ones) got lost, and that "has" got turned into "places." Changing "has" to "places" is just wrong. There is no requirement to place the meeples the turn before or whatever that may imply.
"place worker" may be less descriptive and possibly misleading, compared to "move worker". The meeples are always moved, the various locations aren't permanent. The actions that involve moving them are only restricted by where they can be placed depending on the action, not where they can be taken from.Liallan wrote:EDIT: Also looks like "move worker" got changed to "place worker."
