Caylus and Puerto Rico are pretty classic examples of games I play with horribly scanned assets. I have no idea which mods on here are paid for and which ones are done by fans. I don't even know for sure GtSchemer is getting paid, or was just given permission. I assume he is getting paid, since they put that banner out forever ago about it being made, but I don't really know if he is.
Ok I was guessing you were talking about either old games or very niche games so indeed the standards have changed quite a lot since Puerto Rico developpement. And as I said, any popular title is now done by a freelance dev, and I think we can agree that Twilight Imperium can be considered as a popular title without too much doubt, so yeah this is a paid work and he is in contact with FFG so he should have good quality assets.

How did the private alpha go? Any approximate timeframe for public alpha? Keep up the good work. We are all sending you good vibes

Hi, are there any news on the release?

I assure you all that they will release it when it is ready, no one is more eager to release it than the developer, they will announce when/if they need pre-release testers, etc.
Constantly asking for updates is counterproductive, as it adds stress to the dev and makes them take time away from development to answer.

I will give a small update when I can -- right now I am just deep in logic that will take a few days, so there is nothing exciting to report.
Once I get out of that and into the final agenda cards, I plan to post again.

Just wanted to post a quick thank you to the developer for taking this on. Love this game and grateful you're taking the time to make it more accessible and broaden the audience to it.

There was some slowdown while I updated the tactical action GUI, but now I am back to agenda cards. There are 8 remaining, but various miscellaneous tasks and occasional bug fixes make the timeline hard to predict.

Mate, it is a massive job you are taking on so no pressure. No doubt you are feeling the pressure from the community to have this done because everyone is super eager to play such an A class game without the setup and put away time
Ultimately though everyone here is more interested in playing a version thats 99% there than 90%, so if bug fixes take up extra time, we thank you for your attention to detail!
