Red thumb evolution (step 1)
Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
I have gotten at least 5 thumbs from people who were angry that I beat them. I am very nice to everybody. I haven't been mean or rude to a single person. My first thumb was someone who was angry at me for beating him at Seasons, we were cordial then I played a card at the end that gave me more points than him and he called me a Fn Bitch and red thumbed me. So this is a good idea. There are too many people to keep track of and I know I don't want to play with people who are poor sports again.

Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
Can you clarify something for me? Does this mean that if I am in a table with 6 players and I am the table admin, when a new player tries to join it will check just to see if I have given them a red thumb or EVERYONE in the table? So if one of the other 5 gave the player a red thumb, he/she will not be able to join?

Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
Hi sorry but I dont like that
More players I can play with better. I guess this is what we all want, less waiting time for games to start and more players to play with
I usually give second chance to those unfair players anyway. Why not, some of them are maybe still youngsters, teens, boys discovering new things in life so it is normal to think that they might change their decisions at one point.I didn't have many of those change decision cases so far but it happened once or twice I remember. If I dont want to play with those players I can easily avoid them not problem at all they usually stick in my mind, and it is not like too many of them.
Only one thing would work for me and thats info who exactly gave me red thumb. Thats the only thing I need and that the only info these players need because they might be questioning their giving red thumbs basically for nothing decisions like when losing a game and things like that.I dont bother even giving red thumbs to those who deserves them so giving red thumb for nothing is pure nonsense.
I was trying to take part in one game of Puerto today but I was not able to because unfair player(kraplph) gave me red thumb, and was not aware it was him. Do I need to explain to other players at the table that i really wanna play with them, that he was the one who game me red thumb for nothing? I did that but am I supposed to do that, I dont think so
You see this is a problem. Also I play quite a lot of games here so these thoughts are with me for quite some time, and maybe should count for at least taking them into consideration. I agree with sub0ptimal and others with similar thoughts
Cheers

Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
This is already proving to be a really bad idea.
Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
Thank you!
Now the troll will know I red thumbed him when he can't join my games.
Maybe this can be changed to HIDE our existence entirely from people we red thumb?

I don't like it.
So we don't have the possibility to change our idea of one gamer, give him a second chance.
And then the chance to lost some red thumbs

For 3+ player games, this still presents most of the same problems and adds some new ones. I don't understand the problems with the old system, but the problems with the new one are glaring.PhotoJoe wrote:

Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
Any evolution in the red thumb system that improves players attitudes has to be of benefit, so time will tell but thanks in advance to the developers. I think this could yield more transparency in the system. Regards giving people a second chance I agree so perhaps we could either have a complete amnesty and reset the red and green thumbs to zero, or have some way of generating a list of players we have given a red thumb to in the past so we can reset it ourselves manually.
Re: Red thumb evolution (step 1)
A red thumb tells the world: "don't play with him/her!". Many people restrict their tables to players having very few red thumbs.
So why would you like to give such a warning and prevent a player from joining other tables if you are, yourself, ready to give them a second chance?
Stop distributing red thumbs for pointless reasons. Keep them for people you really do not want to meet again.
For players who play too well (and beat you, which you cannot stand) or too badly (and make you lose in cooperation games, which you cannot stand either), or may have encountered connection losses, just write a personal comment if you are ready to give them a second chance.
Now, if you already have given more red thumbs than you should have, and see one of your victims trying to join one of your tables, remember that you can remove their red thumb anytime...
