It's a fabulous contest, though I can't imagine myself getting that good at anything in that time span.

It's a new game though. Everyone is going to have the same issue as you - nobody has a head start here. Which is awesome. (: Here's to this format (and prize!) not being the last of its kind.

I have to agree it's better to have in the end the top N players participate in a well observed tournament against each other. Otherwise it becomes too difficult to prevent abuse, when there's such an attractive prize on the line.

This seems unexpected considering your recent post about players farming ELO points. However it still sounds like a fun contest.

Well, our recent post was to explain that we are efficient against ELO boosting, to discourage players to waste their time with that. So this will definitely be a fun (and fair) contest

this is very cool.

But basing the competititon on Elo rank is a VERY VERY bad idea. This can create a total shitfest of Elo abuse, point feeding, players selecting new players only to leach off etc. Such a contest should never ever be held with the top ELo ranking, there already is a ton of abuse (top 10 of TTA for example have 3-4 abusers constantly).

It should just be done with 1 or 2 tournaments. Perhaps use Elo for entry to tournament but not more than that, this will be a sham now.
