I have tried. Most players just won't listen and start bombing the games if it does not go their way and they just want to abandon and start over... Without learning anything from the experience.Travis Hall wrote: ↑04 December 2020, 12:21It might be worth creating some training games, and helping some people become good players.
(Training mode partly so that we don’t get annoyed with stupid plays constantly dropping our ratings, and partly because then we can explain the techniques as we go and nobody considers it cheating for rating increases.)

Re: Hanabi is now premium!
The website claimed that people need at least one payed user to start the game, but actually I was never able to start the game any longer (even very often I came across payed user very often, almost in every game/every second game).
I could understand that the website may need money, but basic respect should not be missing. I do not like tricks.
I could help myself feeling disappointed and disgusted.

I dont understand what you are saying ? Only premium users can create a table, that is normal behavior, as with any premium game.Schnabeltier wrote: ↑07 December 2020, 18:24 The website claimed that people need at least one payed user to start the game, but actually I was never able to start the game any longer (even very often I came across payed user very often, almost in every game/every second game).

Re: Hanabi is now premium!
The quality of games (at least 2p) has decreased significantly in the last 2 weeks. I am pretty sure it is because of premium, not because of the new UI.
Since this is a co-op game, it means that all players should actually be good at this. With the premium model as it is, the players who are not premium, tend to play less often so their skill level is not really as high as the elo suggests. Especially with all this rampant abandon-game disease going on when they would lose elo. This is just providing worse and worse games at higher level of play. And the skill just keeps decreasing. People don't know finesse or bluff clues anymore etc.

Do you have any statistical data to support your claim ? (Change of ratio in the number of perfect scores for instance)Stroom wrote: ↑17 December 2020, 17:33 The quality of games (at least 2p) has decreased significantly in the last 2 weeks. Re: Hanabi is now premium!
This is exactly the kind of post which make me reluctant to try another Hanabi match.. such an attitude is certainly more harmful than that "premium" statusStroom wrote: ↑17 December 2020, 17:33 The quality of games (at least 2p) has decreased significantly in the last 2 weeks. Re: Hanabi is now premium!
If it would be easier to download all my games since august, I could try to do it. So far it is just personal experience.
Re: Hanabi is now premium!
Ok, thanks for clarifying. I would really interested in some more concrete figures to see if there was a real change or more a change of mind/attitude of some players.
The only figure I got is the audience which is still à 2.3% as for the past 2 weeks.
Re: Hanabi is now premium!
I would like to know how the numbers for amount of games played have changed since the game has gone premium.
I almost never can get a turn-based game anymore. Are people not playing anymore? Are there not enough premium players playing Hanabi?
