Well, Roll Through The Ages was a good idea, lots of good wood in this one ! But still off target.
Congratulations to Strickhouser, the new game is Jenga from Parker Editions !
... of course I'm kidding !
This riddle is good ! Here is the 4th clue (with this one, I think you should be closing in) :

Lots of good ideas, but the game name has not been found yet !
Time to conclude, here is the final clue. With this one, it should now be just a game of speed !
5) It is an American Mensa Select game

Yes ! Congratulations RaID3r !
The new game is indeed
Uncle Chestnut's Table Gype from Paul E. Nowak & Christopher Nowak !
Here is the explanation for the riddle :
1) Wood is Good -> Uncle Chestnut Table Gype has wood pieces
2) Friends with Words -> G.K. Chesterton and H.G. Wells, who created the concept for the game, are authors and were friends - it's also a play on the online version of scrabble, called words with friends.
3) If your Plans are Spoiled, Roll with the Punches -> this clue is more obvious, rolling and spoiled plans...
4) Picture of G.K. Chesterton at his best !

5) Award received by the game.
I hope you enjoyed this difficult riddle from author Paul. E Nowak !
