If it's a good game, what's the problem with gg-ing when there are just a couple of moves left, whether you win or lose? Does it matter that the winner is not yet decided?

I hate when this happens. If the intention is to say "hey i'm really enjoying this game" then say that. But a GG before it actually over is annoying and I've seen people end up with egg on their face because they think they have won and then lost.

I've said 'gg' and lost. wasn't any egg. wasnt lying, it was a gg.


why does "gg" imply "I win" to everyone?

I will often post "gg" when the end of the game is nigh. I would like the other players to know that I enjoyed the game, whether I am going to win or not. So many players leave immediately when the game is finished, there is really no time to express my gratitude for the time well spent.
