When I said "if only there were a way," it was tongue in cheek. However, there is the possibility that the games you know list was implemented in some unfortunate way that you can't actually remove elements.

Out of curiosity, I did a little digging, and apparently some databases include table types that are append-only. But it says in those databases the rows themselves are append-only, whereas each of our individual lists of known games is in our own row (I presume) in some database, so that doesn't really explain it.

I get that sometimes you want an object to be immutable, and this games you know list is quasi-immutable (hemi-immutable?), but I don't know why you'd want that.

Good news. All the issues I had recently noted with the forums seem fixed today. And it's fast too. Kudos to whomever fixed it.

Yes, today it's much better than it has been for a long time. Still the iframe breaks my browser's top/bottom mouse gestures (in case someone's looking for something else to fix).

Agreed.

I just realized we don't know this is true. The forums just behave(d) as if this is true.

But I see that the gameslist query parameter is gone now!

Yes, good that this has been fixed. (I'm on the forum for the first time since getting back from a family holiday a couple of days ago, and just realised I was only seeing the "right" games now, not absolutely everything.)

Well, now the forum seems to have decided that I don't "know" a game until I have finished playing it. It wasn't like that before, was it?

The forums are slow to load again for the last day or few. Anyone else see this?

Although not consistently. Sometimes it is fast, but slow with enough frequency that I notice it happening often.

There was an issue for me earlier today, but it's back to normal.
