The good thing is that on this site, you can have many different games playing. So normally, you should be constantly cycling through different games and objectives. A game taking longer than expected doesn't fundamentally change that experience.
The analogous reasoning goes like this:
The good thing is that on this site, you can play many games solo. So normally, you should be constantly playing and finishing games by yourself. A game with others ending prematurely doesn't fundamentally change the experience.

But I don't want to play games solo, I want to play competitively with other people. The experience is fundamentally different. It doesn't fundamentally change when you're enjoying yourself with 100 games, and a couple of them happen to take months.

But I don't want to play 100 games simultaneously, I want to play one or two and enjoy them the most. The experience is fundamentally different. It doesn't fundamentally change when you are enjoying yourself with an AI/automa, and another game is ended.

Then obviously that would fundamentally change the experience, but then your requirements are specific to the point of absurdity. You're saying that if you had just one game going here and it really was taking months to complete, you really wouldn't go and start another game while that game is still on?
Considering the number of trophies you've won and of games you've played, I very much doubt you have just one game going at a time.
