Couple questions on arranging match date for tournaments, all for turn-based 2 player games, generally 5 day game duration so a 6 match event can be finished in a month for monthly tournaments:
When scheduling match dates for tournaments I see that the matches need to be spaced out a least as far as the game duration. Match 1 scheduling references "Match 0" in the text and says it needs to be X days after the start of Match 0. Has it been confirmed with devs the Match 0 is part of the code and is technically correct? If so, Match 0 must be the first match that starts immediately at tournament start. Does that mean that "Match 1" in the scheduling refers to the match AFTER the first match (Match 0)?
For Round Robin tournaments the match scheduling should ideally be more relaxed than it currently is. Match scheduling is clearly programed specifically for Swiss/ Single Elimination where results are needed for pairings. The only options available right now seem to be having all games start at once, or manually scheduling the matches far apart so they happen 1 at a time. Are there any workarounds? Most games I play generally finish in 2-3 days across different time zones so I would like to stagger the matches 2 days apart but keep the match duration 5 days. This way my hypothetical tournament can proceed at a reasonable pace without having to start all games at once and overwhelming players. I will gladly engage in any requested other forum posts or contact BGA to make a request for update. All we need is to remove 1 restriction from scheduling match date for Round Robin tournaments, even better if there's a simple drag down option to select how far apart to schedule the games.
Lastly, been playing around a lot with Group Stage tournament setups. No matter what I do only Match 1-5 can be scheduled regardless of tournament types for each stage and minimum/maximum player size. If anyone knows any workaround let me know. It would be great if the Match number got extended along with the RR fix above so I can host a group stage with RR first stage, groups of 8 and stagger the game starts.
I started BGA this year and pay for Premium to support the website and the games, but also so I can contribute to my community by hosting tournaments. It's frustrating that the tournament modes are so limited and haven't been updated in a long time based on looking through the forums.
