For your information, none of the 10 current TTA leaders has an open report for ELO boosting.

Perhaps this was addressed elsewhere and I missed it but why is this game already open to French players but not the rest of us on BGA? I know its only a few hours earlier than the rest of us but it seems questionable with the already uneasy feeling several people have voiced concerning using the ELO rankings to determine the winner.

The game is not open. What you see here are the testers (game designers, publishers, ...). None of them can be winners for this Contest, by the way.

Could you instead host a tournament and base the rankings on the elo level? Solely using ELO levels makes me automatically decide to not play. I have no chance since I have much less availability than many other people on here. Really, It should be a tournament and top three from the tournament when the prize. ELO is too easily manipulated.

Just one question: will you allow 2-players and 3-players games, after the event? :)

Can i make a suggestion - since ELO can easily be manipulated by say- creating fake accounts and playing against yourself, after a set date, the top elo players will then compete against each other on a turn-based game (They have to make a move within a certain period to prevent the game from dragging on.

This is not true : please see "cheating" section in the FAQ.

But basing the competititon on Elo rank is a VERY VERY bad idea. This can create a total shitfest of Elo abuse, point feeding, players selecting new players only to leach off etc. Such a contest should never ever be held with the top ELo ranking, there already is a ton of abuse (top 10 of TTA for example have 3-4 abusers constantly).

It should just be done with 1 or 2 tournaments. Perhaps use Elo for entry to tournament but not more than that, this will be a sham now.
Well i would tend to share the same opinion as werfmark and others. I don't know about TTA, but there appears to be some very misguided individual abusing the elo in quoridor at the moment. elo is not designed for this purpose. the edge that you can get from abuse may likely be a lot larger than the skill edge for a lot of games, so i can't see this boding well for any law-abiding players.
